Upcoming ‘Uncharted\’ expansion takes gamers to India
After being announced in December by Sony, the story awaiting fans in “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy” has now been partially revealed. The video game, expected to land this year as a PS4 exclusive, will feature two female lead characters, Chloe and Nadine, both of whom are old acquaintances of Nathan Drake.
Initially expected to take the form of a DLC (downloadable content) expansion pack, “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy” will, in fact, be released like any other video game. It is, however, a standalone expansion rather than a fifth installment in the famous PlayStation series. The game features as the cover story in the April edition of the American magazine Game Informer, treating readers to a sneak preview of what\’s in store.
Avid adventurer and hero of the “Uncharted” series, Nathan Drake, has now retired from fortune hunting. His friend Chloe Frazer — a character previously introduced in the second “Uncharted” game “Among Thieves” — steps into the leading role in the upcoming adventure. Searching for the legendary Tusk of Ganesh in India, this female Indiana Jones forms an unlikely team with mercenary Nadine Ross, a fearsome enemy of Nathan Drake from the latest installment, “Uncharted 4: A Thief\’s End.” Chloe has to manage her complicated relationship with Nadine while affronting her adversary, Asav, who is also in search of the sacred artifact.
“The Lost Legacy” doesn\’t yet have an exact release date but it\’s expected to land as a PS4 exclusive sometime this year. This standalone expansion is expected to mark the end of the “Uncharted” saga, according to Evan Wells, co-director of Naughty Dog, the video games developer behind the franchise, speaking to Game Informer. The team is now busy working on a follow-up for “The Last of Us,” a hit game released on PS3 in 2013.
